In this protected natural reserve, the green nature is still intact, teems with botanical paths. "Provençal Colorado" declines the nuances infinite of its deposits of ochre, used to the pure state by the artisans for the creation of their multicolored potteries. This original nature is a source of inspiration for a lot of artists who come here to find a new balance.

Ocre Ground

How do not evoke thousand colours of this country: from ochre to dark purple, and the almost green yellow, the landscapes of Roussillon, and its Rustrel's cliffs, and the Provençal Colorado, Gargas and the careers deliver you their sensational colours. This ochre ground is the fruit of sand deposits, created by the disappearance of the sea, one million years ago. Washed under the effect of the diluvian rains due to the tropical climate which reigned then in Provence, and altered by the iron, these sand, gave to cliffs an orangy red amazing colour.
